For as long as I can remember I have been a baseball fan, and more specifically, a Chicago Cubs baseball fan. I remember the really bad teams in the late '70's. I remember the ground ball that went through Leon Durham's legs in 1984. I remember Steve Bartman getting blamed for the Cubs loss to the Florida Marlins in 2003. I can't remember anything like what happened the last five days. The Cubs are officially out of the playoff hunt.
Our sports teams disappoint us sometimes. Our kids let us down from time to time. Even our spouse can allow us to get hurt on occasion. Jesus is the only sure person to never let us down. Psalm 20:7 says, "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God." Everything else may let us down, but not God.
Join us for worship this morning. Our blended service begins at 8:45 and our contemporary service begins at 11:00 a.m. There is Sunday School for all ages that begins at 10:00 a.m.
