Hello Cornerstone! I hope all of you are doing well and I pray that you are using this time to pursue your relationship with Jesus on an even deeper level. As I mentioned before, I will try to keep you updated on our situation from the church perspective. This will be brief and I want to get straight to the information that we need you to know.

Our Governing Board met on Sunday to assess the situation and develop a course of action. Here is what was decided.

  • We need to limit access to the church by only a few key personnel. Please do not use, or even enter, the church for any purpose. Only Brad, King, and those that directly work with the financial and business end of the church should enter. Those that do enter must disinfect every area they use before leaving. There are disinfecting wipes and Lysol for this purpose. If you have a small group that meets at the church, please meet elsewhere. Normally our small groups meet at a home that is best able to accommodate multiple people. Perhaps the new determination is who has the most disinfectant!
  • We want to again thank you for your generous giving during this time. A concern was raised that some people are uncomfortable with online giving, and they are concerned with mail theft. We have purchase a locking mailbox that should be installed by the end of this week. You can either mail, or drop off in person, envelopes into this box.
  • Our ability to connect with you is primarily electronic. Although, hopefully be next week I will be contacting many of you by phone. Our great concern is for those in our congregation who are not tech users. They don’t use Facebook, they don’t even use the internet much. Mostly they are our older members. We need to make sure they can connect with us. My first calls will be to those people. However, you can help! If you know someone in our church who does not know how to use some of our electronic means of communication, reach out to them and see how you can help. We have already had some people teach others how to watch the live streaming on Facebook. If they have a computer, show them how to connect on our website to get ongoing information. Anything that you can do to be sure someone is not left behind is helpful!

None of knows how long this crisis will last. There is hopeful news, but nothing conclusive. However, prayer is the best tool that we can use, and I would ask that all of you pray and ask God for a speedy resolution and spiritual growth for the church as a whole. Blessings to all of you. –King-
